Weekend Musings

Breaking up my normal routine for posts with some miscellaneous musings!

Friendship. I spent five hours (practically unheard of these days) cooking, dining, wining, and talking with a group of girlfriends last night. I love evenings like that—when you lose track of time because you’re having fun. Today I shot off two emails—a birthday email to a friend and a “hey, it’s been three years!” email to another friend—and it felt good. All that friendships require is a little effort. A little time to say, “hey—I value you in my life and I’m making time, even just a little bit, to let you know that I care.”

101 things. Next week I’ll be sharing the complete list of 101 things I hope to accomplish in 1001 days, inspired by Mackenzie and Sarah. I find that writing lists and setting goals for myself is my trick for getting anything done.

Dreams. I had a very long, involved dream last night involving tornadoes. Zach and I were at an outdoor picnic and ended up taking refuge in a basement with like 15 other people. Three tornadoes came through and actually touched me but we ended up unharmed but shaken. I’m sure a dream analyst or psychologist would have a field day trying to diagnose my life, but I found it interesting. Do you have vivid dreams? I tend to have bizarre, clear-as-day dreams frequently.

This weekend. My big plans include going to the Women’s Fund Keyholder event tonight, watching Italy play Spain in the Euro Cup final (Forza Azzurri!) on Sunday, and spending time at the library and hauling my finds home.

What are you up to this weekend?
