Daydream: Moroccan Morning

Imagine waking up in the morning to the sound of the muezzin and sunlight pouring through the windows. You rouse, stretch, and listen to the sounds before padding out of bed. Dressing for desert heat means dressing light, and a linen top and linen pants will do. Savor a cup of mint tea and slip on a pair of sandals before you head out the door with a scarf, pair of sunglasses, and watercolor supplies stuffed into your everyday tote.

You find yourself lost at the souk purchasing far too many kaftans, scarves, and maybe even one of those metal lanterns. On your way back, you toss a shawl over your shoulders, cover your hair, and stop by the local mosque to marvel over the architecture. All the geometry has inspired your next painting, so you leave and settle at a cafe for another cup of tea and some quiet time. Before you know it, the sun is dropping and your stomach starts to rumble. You head back and change into a flowing navy maxi dress and a pair of turquoise earrings for a shared meal outdoors in the courtyard.

Today’s post comes to you with a healthy dose of wanderlust. Morocco is high up there on the list of dream vacations for me. If you’re as intrigued by it as I am, you might be interested in Maryam Montague‘s Marrakesh by Design.
