I love my L.L.Bean Town and Field Tote, but it’s heavy. Leather is heavy, so by default it has some heft even when it’s empty. It also has a middle pocket through the center of the bag, which makes it difficult to fit anything wide in there. Though I travel often with this bag, it’s not ideal as a fully functional carry-on bag. (You can see the Town and Field Tote in action here.) It is, however, a fantastic bag for carrying around a laptop, binders, or larger files for work.
So what travel bag am I eyeing?

The Lo & Sons The O.G.! Particularly in that beautiful pink color. I love that there’s a side compartment for heels or running shoes, internal pockets for chargers, and a large outside pocket (which I definitely need) for storing immediate access items. It also seems lightweight, durable, and water-friendly (nylon).
Ah, if only. I’m on the hunt for a new wallet (more on this next week!) and so my dream of owning this bag will be shelved for a while longer.
What do you use as your carry-on item? Would you recommend a particular bag? Let me know in the comments!

That bag is amazing! I don’t really have a good travel bag- the one I use I bought second-hand somewhere? I don’t really remember!
:) Glad you agree. Second-hand stores can be real gems for things like this!
I would LOVE to own The O.G. Right now, I’m using a bag my aunt made. Super cute, but doesn’t hold as much stuff as The O.G. would.
A handmade bag sounds awesome!
omg I am in desperate need of a new carry-on tote. My oversized one I picked up last minute from Forever 21 is not cutting it. This would be a great weekend bag as well!
I know! Perfect weekender bag, or even a gym tote. I feel like I’m slowly but surely talking myself into it.
I’ve been lusting after that O.G. bag as well, but in the army green (you know me, the neutral girl).
For right now, I’m using the Nest Hudson Bag. I invested in this: http://ow.ly/bh5QW. Stick with me here, I realize it’s a diaper bag but other than the changing pad that comes with it, there is no additional indication that it is intended for that! And since it’s made to be a diaper bag it’s super lightweight, even though it’s leather. I wanted a bag that had a zipper (since I fill that thing to maximum capacity to avoid checking a bag) and I wanted the handles to be long enough to be comfortable on my shoulder and not slipping off. I wanted a cross-body strap, lots of pockets on the inside, room for a 15″ MacBook Pro, and a pocket on the outside for my phone and airplane ticket. I’ve carried it on at least 10 trips now and it never fails someone stops me and asks about it!
I like the army green too! I wouldn’t get the black (despite how neutral/easy to keep clean it is) but I like the other colors too. Your diaper bag turned laptop bag sounds like it works out really well! I also am a big fan of the cross-body strap. I’m curious to see how The O.G. would fit the 15″ MacBook (apparently it’s doable), since that’s what I use for work.
That pink bag is great! I don’t have one particular brand I use….but the lululemon bags are great!
Ahh, I would buy almost anything from lululemon—if only it wasn’t so expensive!
That is a super cute bag!! I’m on the hunt for an inexpensive camera bag that doubles as a purse but I have yet to find something!
Let me know if you find something that you like! Camera bags that are functional and pretty are hard to find.
Such a great bag! I’m a huge fan of anything from the Long Champ Le Pliage line. I use my black Long Champ tote every day and it never fails!
Thanks for stopping by, Holly! Ah yes, you can’t go wrong with the Longchamps bags—they’re durable and classic.
